New Clinton Hill Lottery Offers Apartments Starting at $735

A new affordable housing lottery has opened at 555 Waverly Ave. in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Clinton Hill, offering 38 affordable units to low and moderate income renters. Rents will start at $735 for studios and run to $888 for 2-bedrooms, varying with income. See the chart below for details.

Interested renters should apply through NYC Housing Connect before the deadline of May 24, 2018.

About 555 Waverly Ave.

The new Waverly Avenue development has 190 apartments spread across eight floors. Designed by HTO Architect, the brick facade of the structure was meant to blend in with the nearby townhouses for which Clinton Hill is known. In addition to brand-new appliances and sleek fixtures, 555 Waverly will also provide residents with a furnished roof deck.

Who Should Apply for the 555 Waverly Ave. Lottery?

To apply for one of the 38 available units at 555 Waverly, you must meet the household income requirements, which are set at 60 percent of the area median income (AMI), or between $27,086 and $57,240 annually, depending on family size.

There are other criteria that may impact the selection process. Current residents of Brooklyn Community Board 2 and current municipal employees receive special preference. Applicants with disabilities impacting their audio, visual or mobile facilities also receive special preference.
