Bed-Stuy Housing Lottery Offers 1BRs from $1,102 to Middle-Income Renters

A new housing lottery has launched in Bed-Stuy offering 20 units to low-and middle-income renters who qualify. Rents at the 633 Marcy Avenue Apartments start at $1,102 per month for 1-bedrooms and go up to $2,665 for 2-bedrooms, varying with income and household size. Interested renters should apply through NYC Housing Connect before the deadline of January 9, 2019.

How to Apply for the 633 Marcy Avenue Housing Lottery

To apply for one of the 20 available units, you must meet the household income requirements. These range from 80 to 130 percent of the area median income (AMI) or, between $46,732 and $135,590 annually, depending on family size.

There are other criteria that may influence the selection process. Applicants with disabilities impacting their audio, visual or mobile facilities receive special preference.

About the 633 Marcy Avenue Apartments Housing Lottery

Located near the corner of Marcy Ave. and Hart St., this new luxury building houses 65 units, a roof terrace and full-service amenities. Each apartment features central air-conditioning, high ceilings, sleek appliances in the kitchen and bathroom and oak finishes. Residents of 633 Marcy Ave. can also take advantage of communal spaces including a fitness center, residents lounge, bike storage room and laundry.

This new development is right between the Bedford-Nostrand G station and Myrtle-Willoughby G station. Residents will have easy access to all the great food and drink options Bed-Stuy has to offer as well as plenty of green space at nearby Herbert Von King Park.

You can apply online here. If you qualify, you will have an interview to review and confirm your eligibility. Interviews typically occur anywhere between two and 10 months after the application deadline. Be sure to go to the interview prepared. Bring documents that verify your household size, the identities of those in your household, and your household income.
