Prospect Lefferts Gardens is a residential neighborhood in New York City's borough of Brooklyn. The area itself is surrounded by many popular areas such as Crown Heights, Park Slope, Prospect Heights, and Ditmas Park and is bounded by Empire Boulevard to the north, Clarkson Avenue to the south, New York Avenue to the east, and Prospect Park to the west. The popularity of Lefferts Garden mostly derives from Prospect Park however, the rise of new shops and business has apprceciated the area into one of the most desired locations in Brooklyn. Originally, the area was originally settled by a family in 1660 but in 1893 the Lefferts estate was divided by James Lefferts into six hundred building lots, now known as Lefferts Manor. By 1979, Lefferts Manor and parts of Lefferts Avenue and Sterling Street were granted landmark status by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission. As far as transportation is concerned, the 2 and 5 trains at Winthrop and Sterling Street, the Q train at Parkside Avenue and the B, Q and Shuttle trains at Prospect Park are the options offered in Prospect Lefferts Garden. In 2012, the Q train was named the most reliable train by News Channel 12.
The apartment is currently being painted. The bathroom and kitchen are under renovation.
