  John had first helped me a year ago, when I found a basic studio on his then-employer's website. Last winter, I found out that our building got sold and the new owner was going to convert units to high-end apartments and not renew us market-rate tenants. Eek! I contacted John, but he had gone to Nestseekers and I erroneously thought he only did high-end corporate relocations.- -After having one broker drop me when he realized I wasn't going to go above a certain budget range (and therefore wouldn't net him a huge fee), and another treat me to some, er, bizarre behavior, I frantically emailed John for "any advice you can give."- -Turned out I had been wrong about his new gig, and that he could indeed help me personally! I gave him a few neighborhoods and quality parameters, and off we went.- -And what do you know, the very first apartment he showed me (an exclusive he had) was the one I ended up liking best! Recently renovated, building old but well-kept, friendly mom-and-pop ownership and management. John himself had deep knowledge of the area, such as the best (and worse) laundromats and the more interesting nightspots. Also, he was able to negotiate the rent down to what I was actually able to pay!- -Most of all, John really listens to his client, and seems to find not just the best 'hood, but the best unit for that person. And he's not at all about the hard sell, something that may take a no-nonsense New Yawker a bit aback. I think I may have found my long-term apartment after living in NYC three years. Otherwise, I'd say that I'll be using John again soon!

  John is a really friendly and easy going agent. He was able to negotiate with the landlord to get a lower rent (ok, it was only $15 less, but still). I recommend him 100%. :)))
