2br, Greenpoint, Brooklyn, $5,350

OUR OPINION: We think that the developers really hit the nail on the head with this project. The massive lobby has minimal decor, tasteful wall art, and a 24hr doorman. Some notable amenities are the beautifully designed roof deck (it may be small but the furniture, greenery, and stone selection is top notch), oversized real fitness center (this will replace your gym), and large manicured courtyard that exists in the center of the property. Lofts are outlined by tall ceilings, the perfect selection of teak hardwood floors, oversized windows, and outstanding views from many of the spaces.

THE BUILDING: The historic structure was first built in 1915 and used by Austin Nichols & Company's Wild Turkey bourbon factory. When the company closed the location artists and musicians flooded in, creating a makeshift bohemian party scene that eventually was shut down by the city. Shortly afterward the property was acquired, gutted, and reopened to the public as industrial modern residential lofts. Many of the original features still remain, such as oversized concrete beams, concrete beveled ceilings, oversized factory windows.
