Upper West Side Apartments provide a unique experience in Manhattan and for that reason they're among the most popular for our renters. For anyone that has lived in or knows Boston, the neighborhood is the closest thing to Boston living that New York has. The buildings are beautiful and, with a few exceptions, they tend not to tower over the blocks. The pace of life is a bit slower than the rest of NYC.
For those that don't know Boston well but are looking to rent on the Upper West Side, the neighborhood has many advantages including proximity to Central Park, proximity to the Hudson River Park, culture (including Lincoln Center and the Museum of Natural History), and a family friendly atmosphere that is great for kids and strollers.
The neighborhood is perfect for people that like to be active. If your apartment lacks a gym, no problem; take a run around the Central Park reservoir, bike through Central Park, play baseball or football on the Great Lawn or roller blade along the Hudson.
For those that are less active but like good food and a drink or two, Upper West Side apartments are also popular because of the nearby dining options. Grabbing some greasy food and a drink at the Boat Basin is a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. For those looking to be more upscale, the Time Warner Center has a collection of great restaurants. Similarly, the food around Lincoln Center is fantastic.
Two main subway lines cut through the Upper West Side. The A,C,E runs through the middle of the Upper West Side while the 1,2,3,9 runs along Central Park West.
