Emily is the consummate professional broker. She took the time to listen to our needs as renters moving from outside the country. She advised us of what would be required as documentation for rental and what type of costs would be involved. She listened attentively about our space needs and amenities we required. She didn't try to pressure us into making a fast decision and was honest and forthright. Plus she got back to us in a timely fashion and was really good about keeping in touch before we came to the city to look at apartments. She is a real gem in a city of sharks and is fantastic with places in Inwood, Hudson Heights and Washington Heights where we looked. In the end we did not find a place with her but everything we looked at was high quality and within our price range. Recommended.
Emily found me an amazing apartment... at an amazing rate.. in the exact area I wanted to look in. She has access to exclusive listings, which make all the difference, and was a great rep for me to the landlord following up on specific requests I had about the rental. You cannot do better.
Emily recently helped us find and sign on an apartment in Inwood, and was excellent with us from the first to the last. Our particular case was more complicated than most, but she always kept us up with where we were in the process. and went the extra mile on our behalf every time it was needed. She was very knowledgeable, accurate and completely professional in all she did for us.
It was also a real pleasure to deal with a broker who you feel you can trust, tells you the truth and actually listens to what you are saying. She is certainly the first (and likely the only) Manhattan broker I wouldn't sprint blindfolded across a busy road to avoid.
I can't recommend Emily highly enough, and would definitely contact her before speaking with anyone else. Finding an apartment is difficult enough without having to broker it though the usual cheap-suited mound of oily-unpleasantness, and Emily showed us that you really don't have to. Do yourself a favor and go with her first.
Emily was on time and ready to take me to see a couple of apartments. She also showed me where in the neighborhood were good places to grab a bite to eat, the park that was nearby, etc. After working with 4 or 5 other brokers, it was a relief to find Emily. Emily made the process of finding an apartment easier than any other broker I've worked with! She is honest and responsive -- she's flexible with communication whether via phone, email, or even text. After explaining my situation and applicant profile she was very realistic with what we could look for but still friendly and understanding. Emily responded promptly and with complete information to all of my requests and questions. She showed us the apartment we were interested in, and another one which she realized would fit our needs better, even though it added nearly an hour to our original appointment. I find apartment-searching to be very stressful, which is why I was so grateful to find Emily. She's so friendly and relaxed, and she knows her stuff- the buildings, the neighborhoods.... She's also really informed and clear about what you need (paperwork, financials) to get the apartment you want, taking the mystery and guesswork out of it. I'd recommend her to anyone!
