Originally, the area was originally settled by a family in 1660 but in 1893 the Lefferts estate was divided by James Lefferts into six hundred building lots, now known as Lefferts Manor. Located on a tree lined block in the heart of Prospect Lefferts Gardens, down the block from Wholesome Food Market, Prospect Park and around the corner from the B, Q and shuttle trains.
