Artsy? Then the East Village is for you.

Simply by walking down the streets, one can feel the difference in the vibe of the East Village versus the Upper East Side, for example. Vintage dresses, old lace-up boots, and battered brown purses accent its young inhabitants.

Descriptions of 41 East 1st Street

East 1st Street between 2nd Avenue and 1st Avenue is one of the nicest blocks in the East Village, as it is the last quiet tree-lined street of the southern most boundary of the neighborhood, bordering Nolita, the Lower East Side, Noho, and the Bowery Area. On the block you also have Prune, a popular brunch place, and Bluebird Cafe, one of the nicer third wave roasting coffee shops in the area. About a block away you also have Lucien, the classic French restaurant, and Whole Foods, an amenity in and of itself. Warm and classic details include exposed brick fireplace, subway tile in the kitchen,. Cameron Wyllie (Nov 2013)
There's literally everything around you, grocers, bars, restaurants, landmarks, paths, views, history, the neighborhood is amazing. The neighborhood is fantastic about 50 feet from the subway (F train 2nd ave) and the 6 train/B/D are all about two aves away. Original re-exposed brick and beams. Pre-war era building. Marcio Dable (Oct 2013)
Great location in the border of LES and E. Yotam Gur Zeev (Jan 2013)
Exposed Brick, Video intercom. Cynthia Rivera (Mar 2010)
