2211 BROADWAY in Upper West Side

Upper West Side

Quiet Good transportation Fun nightlife Great food LGBT-popular

Upper West Side residents can’t imagine living anywhere else.

The buildings are beautiful and, with a few exceptions, tend not to tower over the blocks. The pace of life is a bit slower than in other areas of NYC. For anyone that has lived in or knows Boston, the neighborhood is the closest thing to Boston living that New York has.

Descriptions of 2211 Broadway

Built in 1908 by William Waldorf Astor and modeled after the Pitti Palace in Florence, The Apthorp has long been a favorite residence of many people of note and is considered to be one of Manhattan's "Crown Jewel" addresses. The building comes with a fitness facility, a children's playroom, a resident's lounge, an event room, a bike room, an underground parking garage and a circular driveway, which is a rarity in the city. The building occupies the entire block bordered by Broadway, West End, and West 78th and West 79th Streets and is known for its grand scale, abundance of charm, and privacy. The neighborhood also boasts many top schools, up-scale stores, gourmet markets and great restaurants all within walking distance. The Upper West Side location is unbeatable. Bobby Neil (Jun 2014)
