The Famous Chelsea Piers Sports Complex is a ten minute walk west on the Hudson River with health and fitness facilities (pool, gym, classes, rock climbing etc roller blading, two ice skating rinks, bowling alley, driving range and a wide variety of children's programs. A ten-minute walk south puts you in the heart of Greenwich Village, while the same time to the north gets you to 34th Street and Madison Square Garden or Macys. To the east, both Fifth and Sixth Avenues between 14th to 23rd Street are lively shopping areas with a huge variety clothing and specialty of stores. Chelsea has recently developed into an extremely lively art gallery neighborhood to the west, which has spawned numerous excellent restaurants.
