Want to tell your friends you own a Warhol print? A Matisse painting? A chair designed by Frank Gehry? Well you can’t exactly do that, but you can still admire these pieces from the comfort of your own home by taking a trip to the MoMA Design Store. Stop in after a stroll through the museum and take home your favorite pieces. They may not be originals, but your walls won’t know the difference. If you can’t make it up to 53rd street for the museum store, check out MoMA’s hidden gem on Spring Street and Crosby or find everything you’re looking for at momastore.org. While their fine art posters are so affordable (less than $20) you could line your underwear drawer with them, other items are ironically pricey. $290 for a chair about three inches tall sound steep?
They also sell smaller, matted prints for less than $10, if the posters are a little too reminiscent of your college dorm. And you can make your home even more sophisticated with their very unique modern home accessories, my personal favorite being the banana peel door stopper. Because, really, where else can you find one of those?
