One of my absolute, all-time favorite eco-friendly finds has to be the reusable grocery bags by Envirosax. I’ve tried totes of various shapes and sizes, but these were the bags that finally made me really commit to bringing my own bags with me to the store, and wherever I may wander. Not only are they strong and hold a TON of stuff (about two plastic grocery bags worth), they fold up small enough that I can easily keep a couple of them in my purse.
Envirosax are a great way to reduce plastic bag waste, but they’ve also come in handy in many other situations: they’re big enough to hold a motorcycle helmet, which is helpful for urban commuters. They’re also great for traveling; whenever I’m going out of town I make sure to pack a few of these bags in case I end up coming back with more than I left with. They’re also great for keeping dirty clothes separate from clean ones when you’re on the road.
The Envirosax bags come in loads of stylish prints as well as solid colors, which are great for guys or those who prefer a more low-key look. (I’ve actually gotten compliments from grocery store cashiers who thought my bag from the Flora design series was a purse when I first pulled it out.) You can order a whole design series of five bags, which comes with a handy carrying pouch, or mix and match and purchase them one at a time. Check out the entire line at Envirosax.com.
