Hello, fabulous. Come live green with me.

April 22nd, 2009 by Laura Wright

If you ask me, my fellow New Yorkers are a gift to the planet. We love public transportation and take the subway to work every day (and even when we go to the Lower East Side on Saturday nights; sitting in traffic on Houston Street is for tourists and drunks). We live in small spaces that require less energy to heat and cool than the suburban McMansions in which we hope to never live. We carry cloth shopping bags with pride. In Manhattan, they’re now considered accessories. (Yes, Brooklyn, we know you loved them first.)

Alas, we’re not always as perfect as we appear. We could all make little changes to lighten walk a little lighter on our great city. Naked Apartments wants to help.

You’ve come to NakedApartments.com because you’re moving, or you’re thinking about moving, or maybe because you’re hypercompetitive, slightly compulsive, and obsessively check to see if someone else is getting a better deal on a better apartment than the one you call home. (We get it. We’re the same way.) No matter. You could use a few tips for greener living just the same. Once a week I’ll take a minute to post a quick bit of advice for making small changes that can add up to make a real difference. So, be the fabulous, trendsetting New Yorker that we trust you to be: adopt a greener lifestyle and make smarter, better living the envy of all the world.
