Initially I tried to rent an apartment on my own. I went to Jacobson and another Management Company directly. I am shocked at how small the apartments are !!! It was a horrible experience, and they would not answer simple questions about square footage or a simple picture. I decided to bite the bullet and pay a fee.
I then discovered Naked Apartments after getting lied to by SEVERAL brokers on Craigslist. I contacted Deborah and she requested that I organize my paperwork. I was apprehensive, as that is not something I felt like doing at that moment.
Upon looking at my financials, she fully explained to me my options. She showed me 3 apartments that were SPACIOUS , in my area that I wanted , and most importantly , in my budget.
When I looked at the last apartment on the East Side I knew I wanted it! Another Tenant was there, but since my paperwork was ready I was able to take it off the market! Deborah treated me like I was her most important client (which I am sure I wasn't LoL) I will highly recommend her to anyone in the near future and I am happy I found a good broker in New York.

I have to thank Deborah for her hard work and effort to help me find my first apartment in New York. Recently relocating from the Midwest, I had a lot to learn about renting in the city. Unfortunately, the building management company that owns the fourth-floor walk-up apartment I selected refused to negotiate rent “a penny.” Available records revealed the listed rent at a 25% premium per sq ft above the average rent per sq ft of prior rental agreements in the same building. That difference raised too many questions about the value and maintenance I would anticipate from what I knew to be a poorly-reviewed building management company. My first search unraveled...
