New Springville is located in central Staten Island and is perhaps best known as home to the Staten Island Mall.
The construction of the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, which opened in 1964, allowed for quick and easy access between Staten Island and New York City’s other boroughs. As a result, New Springville and the surrounding areas saw an immediate residential development boom.
