Next to downtown Flushing, East Flushing is a middle class “mini-neighborhood” within Greater Flushing that is technically part of Flushing proper.
It is known for its large Chinese community, but isn’t as exclusively Chinese as “the second Chinatown” of NYC. While East Flushing is still 50% Asian, it retains a visual diversity long gone from downtown Flushing.
