Sutton Place

Quiet

Located along the East River, just south of the Queensboro Bridge, Sutton Place is considered one of the most affluent areas of Manhattan.

Named for Effingham B. Sutton who bought land in the late 1870’s this area was initially home to factories and breweries.

Eventually, the area because an attractive area to build; particularly after the opening of the nearby Queensboro Bridge.
