Sophia Nagornaya offers the most refreshing and positive experience for all your real estate needs. Having lived in NYC for over 17 years, she has an intimate familiarity with many of its neighborhoods, and enjoys working closely with clients as their trusted advisor in one of the most important decisions of their lives. "To be a great agent, you have to sincerely care for people and their needs, which I certainly do. My background in psychology and human resources has prepared me well to be that trusted partner and advocate whom you want to represent you in the purchase or sale of your home."
Sophia got drawn into real estate by doing transactions for herself, family and friends. She soon realized her love of the business, and pursued a career as an agent, which ties together many of her passions, talents and areas of expertise.
Sophia takes pride that her clients feel comfortable discussing with her their personal finances and life situations, which may be influencing their real estate decisions. Her attentive service and hard work have resulted in loyal customers who not only come back and recommend her to others, but "insist that their friends do business with me – the greatest compliment of all!," she says.
Originally from Moscow, Russia, Sophia is fluent in Russian and welcomes working with Russian speaking clients and foreign investors.
Sophia holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Ethics, History and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University, as well as a Master of Arts in Psychology from New York University. She previously worked in Training and Development for Blackrock, and Talent Acquisition at AOL.
Sophia currently owns and lives in a co-op in Midtown East, in a central location close to Central Park, museums, stores and restaurants. "Midtown East is home to some of the top companies in the world, yet also has a great neighborhood feel." An animal lover who shares her home with her canine companion, she is happy to make recommendations on pet-friendly buildings and services in NYC. Sophia is also a 500-hour certified yoga instructor, and enjoys occasionally teaching a yoga class or private client when her schedule allows.
