Shanda is a kindhearted amazing person. She was incredibly helpful and helped me search for an apartment in multiple neighborhoods. I highly recommend her.

Shanda has excellent work ethics, she went above and beyond to find me my dream apartment. She responded within minutes to my initial email, came out on a Sunday to show me possibilities and stayed in touch throughout the whole process of finding me a new home. Shanda made apartment hunting fun. A wonderful woman, who makes things happen. I wholeheartedly professionally recommend Shanda King.

Being a movie producer I move around the united states alot, out of all the states ive ever been to nyc is most deff the hardest state to get an apartment but with ms king everything is made much easier,she is friendly, kind and patient and i would recommend her to anybody i know looking for an apartment in this city

After a LONG, crazy and frustrating apartment search, my Husband and I came across Shanda, and she did exactly what she said she was going to do, Ended our Apartment search. Having been an NYC resident for nearly 5 years, and having undergone four separate apartment hunts, I can confidently say that Shanda King is one of the best, if not the best broker, I have ever rented from. Shanda was up-front, professional, and hard-working in every aspect of my apartment search; everything from apartment viewings to lease signings. She helped me and my two roommates negotiate with a difficult landlord, and had us signing a lease within four days of meeting her, after weeks of fruitless searching. She made the process quick, easy, and overall delightful, contrary to many of the brokers I had rented from before. Highly recommended!!

Also: I couldn't help but notice user Kayisha's review below me. I wouldn't normally say anything, but I felt it necessary to comment due to how egregiously slanderous her review was. This is clearly a case of a difficult renter, having backed out of a commitment she had previously agreed to, trying to place her own failures squarely on the head of an honest, skillfull, and highly professional broker. It frustrates me deeply to see blame misplaced like this, dishonestly and somewhat childishly. I can confidently say that Shanda by far the most competent and personable broker I have worked with, and to see this kind of malicious and slanderous verbal abuse directed against her is profoundly saddening.

Now that I am settled into my humble abode I can state exactly what I need to say about this realtor. She is deceitful and conniving. I would advise you to tread cautiously. A low credit score doesn’t equal to poor living quarters. I told Ms. King that I was not interested in Bush wick and Bed Stuy. Low and behold, that’s exactly where she took me. Her exact words were, “I like taking people to Bush wick and Bed Stuy because that’s where I’m from”. So, she is not about her client but her own motives. The apartment she took me too looked appealing but it was dark for mid day. There was a terrible leak in the kitchen. The apartment was still under intense renovation. When I had the meet and greet with the landlord he told me all of these terrible things. The tenant above wouldn’t let him into her apt so he can fix the leak. Well, I thought wtf if this happens again and I am in here what then? I asked if there were any rodents to which he said no. I found a can of roach spray in the bedroom. I have chronic asthma and my asthma would flare up. Ms. King’s response was you can purchase some combat. The hallway was such an eye sore when you walked in from outside. I contacted another realtor and she was able to assist me despite my credit. I contacted Rapid Realty office and spoke to the broker. He obliged my request. Shanda was furious and stated to me that she knew the deal was sour when the landlord opened his mouth. She continued on that Rapid Realty can be nasty and keep my full deposit of $1300.00 but since I am young she’s going to recoup $300.00. I said to her you’re going to keep $300.00 of my money because you knew the deal was bad from what the landlord said. She got tongue twisted and said I am keeping $200.00 for all of my hard work. My advice is the reimburse me my remaining $200.00 because when I contact your CEO, Mark Markowitz office, my local politicians, Consumer Affairs, Better Business Bureau, and the IRS for the deposit that you kept you’re going to wish that you did the right thing from the start. Shanda tells it like it is, works hard and most importantly does not waste your time. We had some serious bad luck singing a lease. And unfortunately I needed to move asap. My budget was a bit low but I had specifics as a woman with neighborhood and safety. I was a good candidate with great credit and even a co-signer but twice the apartment I would put deposits down on were a last minute rent to someone else. Shanda kept on it for me, advocated for me and closed the deal. It took a week and she helped me find a great apartment.

She is a great person! She carried me away to everywhere and she responded me immediately. She really helped me and and we went to see several apartments. I couldn't rent an apartment yet but its not her fault. I am an international student so it is really hard find a place to rent. She is really trying. I strongly recommend her.

Shanda was our fairy godmother. After some really crazy and frustrating apartment search experiences, she was a breath of fresh air - responsive, realistic, responsible, and fun. She fought for us and I never once doubted she would help us win our current place. I spent two months looking and worked with over 30 brokers, but when we move again, I'm calling Shanda. (thank you!)

Have nothing but good things to say about Shanda. Had been looking for about a month and a half, dealing with incompetent and bait-and switch style realtors. Within three days of meeting with Shanda I had found and moved into an apartment that fit my specifications perfectly. Made the process quick and easy, even fun at times. Highly recommended.

Shanda was amazing to work with!!! Even with my crazy scheldule, she was able to find me a great apartment in such a short amount of time, and all within my price range. She is honest, professional and extremely reliable. I really like the fact that she kept all my needs and wants in mind and wouldn't even recommend a place she wouldn't live herself. I am greatly looking forward to working with Shanda again in the future and would definitely recommend her to anyone searching for an apartment or house! Thanks again Shanda, your a life saver! :)

Shanda was very cool! I really enjoyed looking at apartments in Brooklyn with her. She and I got along fantastically, and I enjoyed that she was very real with me, if I thought something was weird in an apartment, she didn't try to justify it to me, she spoke her mind and was honest. She said she would end my apartment search, which I was skeptical at first but then she showed me something I really liked in just looking one day! Although I ultimately decided to go with a different neighborhood, I would definitely recommend Shanda to any of my friends looking to move to Brooklyn, she knew a lot about the area and made me feel very comfortable. Though she did get more focused on my concerns of finding an apartment that would allow my 3 cats than staying closer to my lower price range, I did appreciate the fact that she cared SO much about making sure my kitties felt part of the family in the apartment hunting process. The only reason I'm leaving 4 stars instead of 5 here, was that I thought it was a little odd she hadn't seen any of the apartments before showing them to me, and some were almost not worth showing, but we definitely saw some diamonds in the rough! She was definitely on point with the search. I needed an apartment asap and was referred to her by a friend. She was able to find me the apartment of my dreams in a day. Finding an apartment is hard enough but she makes it easy & fun!!

Mrs. King was great! She didn't waste our time and worked within our budget and showed us an apartment that we signed our lease to! We will definitely contact her again when we are looking to upgrade :)
