At first I was wary about coming into the office as I only wanted to see the apartment I initially responded to. I ended up coming anyway and I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was very friendly, they showed me the apartment I responded to first, as well as a few others in my area and price range. I ended up applying for an apartment and the process was super easy. The office was very helpful, all I really had to do was send in my paperwork. I will defiantly be coming back to Trade NYC when my lease ends and would highly recommend!

I rented an apartment from this agent.

Forced me to come to the office first, which I did not want to do. Then showed me an apartment different from the one that I inquired about in the ad.

I did not rent an apartment from this agent.

Agent refused to show me apartment without first visiting his office so he could show me 'comparable' properties. I explained multiple times that his office was very much out of my way and that I only have interest in this one apartment- so much, in fact, I was certain I wanted to rent it- however was denied viewing.
This isn't all of our first rental experiences in NY- we know what we want: when and where.
I feel as if because he couldn't bait and switch me I was denied an apartment in the neighborhood I really wanted.

I did not rent an apartment from this agent.

We would be more than happy to show you the apartment however we require someone to be present at the office beforehand to get the keys released and have access to apartment. We have too many clients that don't show up on the street and are in danger of losing accounts. Sorry for your inconvenience, let me know if I can help you furthermore.

With only about 10 days until our current lease expired (didn't only start looking with 10 days to go -- had a roommate drop out on us), we put down a deposit on an apartment he and his assistant showed us in a building in which he assured us he was "boys" with the management on a Saturday. He assured us they would have the lease from the company for us to sign on Monday. Monday comes around, no lease. Call him up, tells us they are just swamped and will have it tomorrow. Tuesday, no lease. Get the same answer from him. I even ask him directly if this is a bad sign and if we need to look into other options (7 days to find an apartment now) and he assures me that we are fine. Finally, on Wednesday morning, we get a call from him saying that we had lost the apartment due to the management doing an "internal transfer" of another one of their tenants. Naturally confused and angry to just be hearing of the possibility of this even happening for the first time, I ask "what the **** does that mean?" He proceeds to flip out and start cussing me out -- despite the fact that he's the one that just screwed us over -- and unfortunately because he still has $4,000 of our money we have to take it. On top of it all, he tries to convince us that he's doing us a favor by getting our deposit back, saying that it's a non-refundable deposit but because he's such an all-star he was able to convince them to give us our money back. Do yourself a favor and move on to the next broker. Contrary to popular belief, there are a few out there that are pleasant.

I did not rent an apartment from this agent.
