Ryan was very helpful. He made sure to only show me apartments within my budget and helped me get an apartment that met every one of my criterias while still being below my max price. Very helpful, easy to work with, and was there to guide me every step of the way! Even after getting the apartment, he helped make sure that my moving process went smoothly. Hel helped me find movers and gave me other helpful moving tips.

I can't express how awesome my experience with Ryan has been. As a student from outside of New York, I was pretty nervous getting into searching for an apartment, however, right from the beginning Ryan was enthusiastic, and reassuring. He made sure I had all of my paperwork in line before viewing any apartments so no one's time would be wasted. The apartments he had lined up were all within my price range and exactly what I had in mind, he was also a pleasure to spend the day with! With the horror stories I heard from friends dealing with brokers, I am beyond thankful that I found Ryan. Highly recommended!

We contacted Neil to find a one bedroom rental on the UES.

The first time we spoke to Neil, he wanted a list of deal breakers to guide his search. My girlfriend and I work nights and sleep during the day, so we were looking for a one bedroom with a dark, quiet bedroom. We also wanted a dishwasher and an apartment on a low floor because I have a bike that I can't carry too far. In summary, a pretty tall order.

For our initial meeting, he arrived on time with a list of approx 6 apartments for viewing. Neil's approach to finding an apartment is all about efficiency and honesty. He told us out right that if we knew right away that we didn't like an apartment to just say so and we'd move on. And that's exactly what happened. He never tried to talk us into liking an apartment. He never encouraged us to settle for a place we weren't completely excited about. And most importantly, he was never impatient with us when we said no to beautiful apartments that would have been great for 99% of the population but not the best for two day sleepers (for example - too much sun, etc.)

We didn't find a perfect match the first day but Neil promised he'd keep working for us. The next morning, Neil called us to tell us about an apt in a Co-op building that had just been listed. Thanks to Neil, we were the first and last people to see the apartment. Neil helped us evey step of the way through a pretty tedious application. Thanks to him, we are now looking forward to moving into our beautiful one bedroom with it's dark and quiet bedroom, dishwasher and bike room (!) all next to our favorite park.

Everybody knows some bad stories about brokers, especially in the big apple. This being said I was prepared for the worst when I realized I have to go through a broker to find a new apartment.
Contacting Neil was the best decision in the whole moving process. He is very responsive and gave me a call 5 minutes after I sent him the first email. We talked some time and he took my preferences, financial possibilities and framework. We met a couple of days later in his office to show me some places in his database to get a better idea what I like or not. One week later we met for the first “field trip” where he showed me some (7 or 8!!!) apartments (some of them were on purpose above or below my limit to get a feeling what’s possible…). I did not find anything which fitted my (high) expectations that day.
When we met a week later for the second trip he really hit it off! Out of the 5 apartments he showed me where 2 exactly what I was looking for…
Long story short: Very professional and friendly agent who takes all time in the world without getting pushy or impolite. As a matter of fact you feel more roaming around with a friend than with a broker!

I was anxious about and worried about finding the right apartment when I first moved into the city and was really short on time. Having no luck with other brokers, Neil and his partner Ryan turned out to be great help and exactly the kind of people who could help you find the perfect place you've been looking for. They kept all my preferences and needs in mind when it came to location, rent etc and were able to show me great apartments within my affordable range.

Regardless of having trouble with a few landlords and running into little leasing issues, they were committed to help me find me a good apartment and they did!! I highly recommend them.

I really can't say enough about Neil's courtesy, enthusiasm, and good humor. Despite last minute notice, my limited budget, and a ridiculous hailstorm, Neil and his team managed to set up five viewings in a morning - all within my price range and location I wanted. Always reachable and reliable, Neil also had an associate who lives in the neighborhood telephone me to answer my questions about the area. I would strongly recommend Neil and his office to anyone moving to the city - before speaking to him I felt like I didn't know anything about renting in NY, and now I am much more confident that I have a handle on the market. As a compulsive planner I have checked and tried to contact a few agents found on the Naked Apartments web site. And while 2 of them never indulged me with any response, Neil was very prompt!

First I thought that he was too good to be true... Page after page of great reviews, is he really a NYC real estate agent? Well, YES! And what a great one!

I will recommend him to anyone and everyone who searches the NYC market. It does not even matter (to Neil) whether you have a studio budget, or can go for gold in some penthouse.
Neil took his time to understand our needs, the life style of our daughter, my (safety) concerns as a Mom, and promised to search for a place where he wouldn't hesitate to place his younger sister (if he had one).

He will not waste your time pushing some places that do not correspond with your needs and he will educate you about the approval process ahead of time so that you will have all the paperwork ready to close the deal.

Professional, friendly, extremely efficient, humorous and diligent - these are all attributes that Neil Jordaan has. Working with Neil, you immediately sense he is looking out for your best interest in navigating NYC apartments. Not only does Neil search within the best, safest and convenient neighborhoods, he actively listens and asks you to describe your needs and lifestyle. Neil worked with my mom and I from afar, responding in a very timely manner to our fast-approaching deadline. We first met him in August when he showed us a few wonderful places in Harlem - it really showed how he took into consideration what I wanted. When I got a job offer, Neil was on the ball again and arranged to see places within a very short deadline. I was able to get a modern, spacious apartment in a secure building, with amenities included, and a friendly environment, to boot. All in all, when you work with Neil, you will find someone who is in your corner, who values your time and input, has a great, friendly personality, and eases any concerns you may have.

I had so much anxiety by the time I arrived in NYC to find an apartment in only 9 days. Even more so after I had spent two days with different broker, viewing 8 apartments with no winners.
Then I met Ryan Olsen (Neil's partner that he kindly referred me to though they work closely), and in an hour ~AN HOUR~ I had fallen in love with a place and was applying.
Neil responded very quickly, and both he and Ryan have been friendly, consummate professionals, asking me good questions so that when we began viewing places, we would not waste our time on places that would be poor fits. Now, I'm not an easy customer. I'm moving back to NYC from abroad, and my partner was not with me, making me a tough sell for many landlords. It was a pleasure working with Neal and his associate Ryan Olsen in finding my apartment in Manhattan. They showed me apartments in a few areas and we ended up finding a great one in the UWS. I also had some issues with my credit and Neal & Ryan still worked with me and helped me to assure the landlord that I would indeed be able to pay the rent. After seeing around 10 apartments that day, we found the perfect one for me. It was all-around better than any similar apartment I had seen. To top it off, the apartment was no-fee. By the next day,we had all of the paperwork signed and by the end of the week I had moved in. The entire experience was a pleasure thanks to Neil. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for an apartment in the city.

Neil was amazing to work with. I recently moved from California and needed to find an apartment within a few days before I started my new job. Neil was attentive to everything I wanted for my apartment and was a breeze to work with.

He took me around to several different neighborhoods and even had access to a few apartments that other brokers wouldn't have. I flew in on Wednesday, saw numerous apartments with Neil on Thursday and found an apartment that I loved by Friday. If that's not efficient, I don't know what else is!

Neil is one heck of a real estate broker. First off, he's a really good guy, honest and friendly. Secondly, he knows his stuff and has an excellent handle on what is available in the market and is able to communicate that information to you so you can make intelligent choices. Over the weeks that I was searching for apartments I met with many brokers out of necessity because they were on the listings but only allowed one broker to show me apartments that he thought would work for me and that was Neil. At the end of the day I ended up finding an apartment listing through a management company and didn't use Neil to broker it, but that doesn't mean I don't think he was the best broker I came across in my search because he was. Give Neil a shot, especially if your time is limited, he won't waste it and will show you what you need to see.

Neil showed me some great apartments all over Manhattan. I would highly recommend him. He's a no-bullshit, professional guy and he'll actually listen to what you tell him and not waste your time. He didn't pressure me into anything and was genuinely interested in finding me a good place. I will definitely use him again.

Neil is absolutely fabulous as a broker!

My situation was particularly difficult because I was living in California while apartment hunting online, and only had three days in which to physically hunt, apply, and sign for an apartment for the following month.

This task felt overwhelming, but Neil's constant contact via email and phone during the long-distance search phase, his knowledge and experience about the New York rental market in general, and his strikingly near-intuitive understanding of my taste and style ensured that in a mere 49 hours from meeting him at Starbucks, I will be signing my lease tomorrow.

In addition to distance issues, Neil was able to help push my application through (in record time) even though I lacked previous "proof of employment" since I just graduated in May. Neil is exceptionally funny and polite, and yet tenacious in getting the best possible deals for his clients.

If you want a great broker, Neil is your guy. My husband and I never thought we would be able to find a great 2 bedroom in Manhattan for under $2500 during the end of the summer, and we found it in 2 days, and was accepted in less than 5 hours. He is on time, and really follows up with you on everything. Jackie, the other broker he works with is above and beyond what anyone could dream of! What an amazing woman, and such a hard worker! I could go on and on about these two wonderful people! Worth so much more than what we could ever pay them. Trust me, I am a jaded New Yorker!
