Riad Ben Yahya (Rio) is a studied professional who takes a very personal approach towards meeting his clients’ real estate goals. He loves what he does and sees any obstacle as an invitation to use his intellect and skill in behalf of the apartment hunter who comes to him for assistance. Because he genuinely cares about the people who engage his service, and is results oriented, he is regarded highly.

Previously a Customer Service Representative for Independence Bank, he has been in the business of helping others for a long time. Adept at multi tasking, Rio follows up on returning calls, and relaying answers to questions with a focused diligence that sets him apart from the average rental agent/salesperson.

Originally from Tunisia, Rio has been a resident of Manhattan’s Upper West Side since 1999. He attended Borough of Manhattan Community College and Baruch College-City University of New York and has a degree in Business Administration.
Before his entrance into residential real estate he worked in the commercial aspect of the industry which gives him a broad real estate perspective. Multi-lingual, Rio speaks four very different languages and is an around, nice guy who knows how to get the job done.

We were very clear upfront that we were not going to look at apartments over our budget or in certain neighborhoods. Riad did both, and wasn't even the one who showed us the apartments. He sent us with a runner who barely knew where she was going. When we rejected both of these apartments, he took us aside and scolded us. He also blatantly lied to us. We weren't new to the NYC apartment hunt, but he thought he could take advantage of us and lie. He claimed that he had the same listings as every other agent in the city, then in the next breath bragged that he had a special listing only given to him. He didn't have the listing that we were seeing next with a different agent (we ended up renting that one). Needless to say, I'm glad we didn't end up renting from this man. He is a sleazy liar who gives brokers and agents a bad name.

I did not rent an apartment from this agent.

I had a relatively complicated apartment search and very limited time to take care of it. Riad really came through. He is super-responsive and will return calls and emails ASAP. Riad knows the downtown area well and will give you the full story on what to expect from different buildings, etc. He did a lot of running around to make sure everything was done, and I remain grateful for all his help. I cannot overemphasize how hectic things got and how he never lost his cool.
I would work with Riad again in a heartbeat. He's nice, he's smart, and he will make things happen including when things get really stressful. So far, I am very pleased with where we live, especially considering everything that can go wrong in the NYC housing market

I rented an apartment from this agent.
