Woohooo, Mike is doing my taxes for FREE since I rented an apartment through him!

I was skeptical of brokers and brokerage firms as I had never had a good experience with them in their professionalism, timeliness to answer my questions, setup appointment for showings and so forth.

I contacted Mike on a listing on Naked and he reached out to me instantaneously. So I agreed to meet him in his office on 230 Fifth Avenue, located in the same building as the famous rooftop we all have been to.

Firstly, Mike walked me through the arduous process of renting an apartment in Manhattan; he assured me that he would be with me from step A to Z and that I would just need to select the apartment and provide him the required paperwork/documentation and he would handle the rest.

To make a long story short, I did not the apartment I wanted after two visits and 4 apartments. I found the unit that I want to live in for at least the next year on my third visit/fifth apartment that I saw with Mike.

Morale of the story: my patience and Mike's perseverance, diligence and go-getter attitude got me the unit I wanted.

Work with Mike: he's smart, knowledgeable about real estate, cool personality, down-to-earth, organized, patient, out for your best interest, professional, prompt and delivered as he promised.

You want to know the best part of this at least for me: my 2012 Tax return will be done for FREE and that's a savings of over $400 for me since I have a very complicated tax return.

Happy hunting,

Mark

I had met with agents from Prudential, Citi Habitats, Cocoran and A.C. Lawrence (now Belmarc). Although these agents were professional, they played the bait switch on me and took me to apartments that I did not ask for. They claimed the original apartment that I contacted them about was "taken" or "rented". I mean I could understand if it that was the case in or or two but this was persistently a problem. My conclusion was that although they were polite and professional, they were dishonest.

Therefore, before I met Mike at Upton Realty Group, I was skeptical. Mike took me into his office and showed me three units that we would be looking at that day. I liked all three units but the one that caught my eye and heart was the second one and surely enough I took it and signing the lease on it tomorrow.

For all your renters out there: Mike is polite, professional, very knowledgeable, very honest, cuts through the lying and finds you a unit within your budget. He doesn't try to increase your budget through b*llshit that units within this price range are impossible to find in "this Manhattan real estate market" (this was what I heard from all the other agents from those reputable firms named above). Besides, he's very handsome and charming!!

Mike you are truly a good-guy and I will refer my friends and family to you and hope to see you in the future, if I decide to move to another unit.

I was skeptical of brokers in general before I met Mike. Mike changed my opinion 360 degrees. Firstly, he is very knowledgeable of the Manhattan market including average rental prices for an area as well as the vacancy rates. Besides the knowledge, Mike is a great listener and because of that he knew exactly what I wanted after we met in his office for 15 minutes. I had looked at over 15 apartments but the first one I looked with Mike was the one I had been looking for three weeks.

Mike is definitely the most honest, knowledgeable, and helpful broker I have ever met and I have met many others from prominent brokerage firms. I highly recommend Mike and will utilize him next year for my next apartment search.
