His extensive 20-year background in the restaurant business prepared Michael well to be patient, thorough, and committed to making people happy. He has resided on the Upper East Side as well as in Astoria, Queens. Michael graduated from American International College with a Bachelors degree in Political Science. These expert skills were the makings of his becoming the fine real estate agent he is today. When not out matching people with perfect properties, Michael gives back to others through his participation in Zog Sports. He is the captain of his two-hand-touch co-ed football league that picks a charity to play for and donates funds to that cause.

Michael was the best realtor we worked with. He responded very quickly to my initial inquiry and we met almost immediately afterwards in Astoria (on a Sunday, no less). He was very professional, knowledgeable and easy to talk to, and he answered lots of our general questions since we were early on in our search. We really liked both of the apartments he showed us and planned to put in an application on one until he heard from the account manager that the landlord already had an application under consideration. We ended up finding another place, but we would definitely work with him again.

I did not rent an apartment from this agent.

Michael was an excellent man to work with. He sought hard after the things that were really important to us and found us a good number of places that balanced our wants as well. He is very trustworthy, and very quick to respond to anything we needed from him. This was our first NY apartment after moving up from Texas, and Michael was very patient and helpful as we "adapted" to the demands of NYC landlords. But the best part of Michael's business personality is his drive to find us the perfect place. Even to the point of calling us one evening after he immediately caught word of an opening. We left right away to meet him, and even though we missed the apartment by just 10 min, I was very happy to know that he was on our side and was looking out for our best interest, even if it meant putting in the sometimes long, extra hours. I would highly recommend Michael every time.

The best part about working with Michael is his patience. He never rushed us to close on any apartment - we felt like he really wanted us to get what we were looking for instead of just pushing us into an apartment that didn't fit our needs. He is also nice. Really, really nice. A rare thing!

I rented an apartment from this agent.

Michael was recommended to us through a friend who had worked with him last year, and we couldn’t be more pleased. He has been the most responsive agent we’ve worked with, always making time for us amongst his busy showing schedule. We’ve given him very specific requests and since he’s a long-time NYC resident he really knows where to look and has shown us a handful of apts. that we really like. We are hoping to put an application in on one in the next few days. Some agents just want to ‘close the deal.’ With Michael, we get the feeling he really wants the right fit for us and won’t just try to ‘sell us.’ We will definitely be recommending him in the future.

Response time was a little slow after initial contact and I had to re-initiate with him. We could not come up with a time that worked for both of us, however after asking for another prospective viewing date I did not hear back from him for 5 day until I emailed to follow up. He stated that the apartment was already rented, yet the until still appeared as available on his inventory 2 days after the weekend. I will not work with this agent again.

Michael Sargent Responded:
I contacted him 30 minutes after his initial contact. I offered to show him the apartment the same day he contacted me (Wednesday). He wasn't available. He wanted to see the apartment at 12:45pm on Friday. I wasn't available so I offered to show him on Friday after 5pm, he wasn't available. Then, he wasn't available to see it the entire weekend. And the apartment he wanted was rented over the weekend.
