There is no such thing as the perfect apartment, but Martin Salerno sees challenges as opportunities. "The New York real estate market can be complicated but not impossible. There is a right home out there for you, and we'll find it! Along the way, I'll try to alleviate the stress by providing the most pertinent information, showing the best options for your needs and budget and communicating at every step so you feel confident, connected and empowered."
Martin has an easy ability to connect with people and to creatively resolve issues. He understands that renting or buying a home is a huge decision and investment and as such, he brings extensive knowledge and resources (from bankers to decorators) to the table. He prides himself on assisting his clients from introduction until they put their clothes in the closets.
He also possesses strong analytical and negotiating abilities having spent many years in the garment business fine tuning these skills. He truly understands the value of hard work and always makes himself available to his clients at their convenience. He listens, assesses the real estate landscape and then quickly puts a cohesive plan in motion. He saves his client’s time and money.
Being the owner of a co-op in New York City and a home in upstate New York, both of which he personally renovated, gives him valuable insight that he enjoys sharing with clients. He is a native New Yorker who hails from Staten Island, grew up in Jersey City and for nearly two decades has lived in the Gramercy Park area of NYC. However, he works with clients all over Manhattan in search of the right place they can call home.
For 25 years prior to entering real estate, he enjoyed a successful career in the fashion industry working his way up to senior positions and building businesses for brands like Kenneth Cole, Ben Sherman and Nautica. He started his career in the Bloomingdale’s executive training program.
Martin graduated from William Paterson University in Wayne, NJ with a BA in Radio and TV Production and a minor in Business Administration. He worked through college acting and modeling which ultimately lead to him to his previous career. After entering the garment industry he continued his education by taking additional courses at FIT in Retail Merchandising and Buying.
