Joe met with my girlfriend and I several times, first showing us potential apartments in his office, then driving us around to different neighborhoods to check out the places in person. Unlike many brokers, Joe always seems very in control (always has the keys, or the right phone number, etc.)
I did not end up renting an apartment through Joe but that was in no way a reflection of his efforts -- we just happened to find an apartment through a different agency that met our needs better. But I would absolutely recommend Joe as a broker.
