Joaquin Pinkney has been a real estate professional in a career spanning over half a decade.  In his career he has done over 400 real estate transactions involving leasing and selling properties in New York City ranging from Brooklyn to Manhattan.  He was born in Brooklyn, New York to two very hardworking parents who always emphasized the value of education and hard work while maintaining the principles of honesty, integrity and loyalty while maintaining the fundamentals learned in a religious upbringing.

Joaquin has always has a passion for real estate.  However upon graduating from St. John’s University he seized an opportunity to work in the Finance department in SUNY Downstate Medical Center. This led to a 5-year tenure with the institution, which was a great learning experience and led to many great business relationships. During his time of being employed by the hospital, Joaquin’s passion for real estate led to him to attend real estate school after work hours and obtain a license to which had enabled him to began his real estate career. He began by working part-time in Brooklyn with a local broker who specialized in Short-Sale transactions, home sales. Loss-mitigation and assisting people in the community who had government programs find housing. Here he learned the fundamentals of real estate.

Due to the recession in the late 2000’s, lay-offs in his department in the hospital forced him to make the change from a “part-time” real estate agent to a “full-time” real estate.  This resulted in him moving to Manhattan to pursue his dream of working full time in the “big-city” to do real estate.  His full-time career Century 21, A.C. Lawrence and Citi Habitats. Throughout his career he has seen much success and has many awards based on his production.

As a native New Yorker, Joaquin has an extensive knowledge and affinity towards the city he has called home during his lifetime which has afforded him the opportunity to have a vast knowledge and prowess in Real Estate.  One of his preferred adage about New York City is “Here you have access to almost anything from anywhere in the world, and that’s my favorite aspect of living here.”
Cumulatively this has enhanced his ability to aid clients by listening to their needs and making “the right” assessment for their situation based on his experience and real estate market knowledge. This has resulted in many referrals and “repeat business” throughout his career, which he strongly prides himself on and heartily feels is one of the best compliments for his services.

Joaquin was great to work with. After contacting him about an initial apartment, he chose to show me others I had not seen listed, and I ended up finding the one I am in now. He was very helpful during the application process. A great agent to work with!

I rented an apartment from this agent.

Joaquin was absolutely great to work with. Always responded promptly to e-mails and texts. He was very accommodating of our schedule for viewings, and took all our criteria and our budget into account when showing us apartments. He only showed us great apartments. I would work with him again and I would recommend him in a heartbeat.

I did not rent an apartment from this agent.

Exceptional!
I contacted Joaquin about one of his listings. When that first apartment did not work out, I gave him a pretty specific list of things I was looking for in an apt. Less than 24 hours later, he showed me a great apartment and I am signing the lease tomorrow.
Great job.
Highly recommend.

Great experience working with Joaquin. He actually cares about finding you the home you tell him you want to have. Makes himself available at your convenience and is very patient throughout the search.

Does not apply any pressure to make a decision, and refused to show us units that he felt might be sub-par. Very open and honest about the market and all available units.

Worked with our price range and found us a great home. Great broker and person. Will work him with again, and recommend to people I know who are on the search for an apartment.

Thanks again, Joaquin!!

I got an immediate response to my inquiry. Unfortunately, the apartment in question didn't work for me. But, he was pleasant, professional and very interested in what my exact needs were. He will continue to follow up with me on new listings that meet my criteria. Looking forward to working with him.

I had a great experience with Joaquin (JP) Pinkney. Coming from out of town and with very specific--even demanding--needs, I had already gone through dozens of sleazy brokers and inadequate apartments (and one application denial) by the time I met JP at his office. ??Other brokers said that what I wanted did not exist, that I couldn't have an oversized apartment in Manhattan near a train for under $2k. I was sour, skeptical, and sure that this would be yet another disappointment. However, JP was extremely professional, never seemed put off by my demands, and tirelessly hunted for an apartment that met MY needs--not his. He listened to me and took me out to see apartments over the course of a week in spite of my hectic schedule. And whether it was at midday or in the evening after work, JP would show me at least four apartments in each outing. He treated me like I was his only client, even though I did not have a large budget. And with each outing, the options he presented were closer and closer to what I had in mind--until we finally hit the nail on the head. Now I'm a great UES apartment, paying the monthly rent I wanted to pay from the outset and with the space I needed.

Joaquin Pinkney answered my prayers.

My boyfriend and I were set on finding the perfect apartment. While I was at work, my boyfriend's job was to find a place. For two months, checking every Craigslist ad and broker from here to Park Slope all we ran into were headaches and bait and switch brokers. We got twice bamboozled by co-op boards and private renters who ran us through circles. I swear, my Boyfriend took videos of over 50 apartments to show me when I came home every night. Over and over again, we saw cookie cutter boring places.

Insert Joaquin. Now we were at the end of our ropes, about to give up on our city dream... Joaquin showed us (in one day) 4 places and was honest about what was good or bad. He never showed us a crappy unit and never anything above our price limit. In the end, we found a ridiculously awesome loft that was below market.
After dealing with over 20 brokers and tons of negative experiences, I feel blessed to have run into Danny. He's a pro who knows the neighborhood and the community. If you're thinking Upper West Side Joaquin is definitely your guy!!!

I worked with Jaoquin and he was a fantastic broker. He reached out to me based on my criteria and he read my comments and paid attention to exactly what I wanted. He was able to show me a few places during my lunch break. He took me to newly listed apartments first and I wound up applying to -- and signing -- the second apartment that we looked at. It was listed the night before, otherwise I'm not sure if I would've gotten it. He was also patient and answered all my questions. I would work with him again.

Me being new to the "apartment hunting thing" I was a little skeptical about working with a broker's due to certain horror stories I've heard about and some of their unscrupulous actions. However from the moment I contacted Joaquin on Naked Apartments he was quick to respond and honest and up front about everything. He listened to what we wanted and by the time we got to the third apartment our search was over and we found our place!!! Me and my roommates were ecstatic about the place he found for us!! For the price we paid for this apartment we have we are already the envy of some of our friends lol.....This was totally smooth and stress-free thanks to Joaquin!!! I IHighly recommend!!!
