I had a great experience with Joaquin (JP) Pinkney. Coming from out of town and with very specific--even demanding--needs, I had already gone through dozens of sleazy brokers and inadequate apartments (and one application denial) by the time I met JP at his office. ??Other brokers said that what I wanted did not exist, that I couldn't have an oversized apartment in Manhattan near a train for under $2k. I was sour, skeptical, and sure that this would be yet another disappointment. However, JP was extremely professional, never seemed put off by my demands, and tirelessly hunted for an apartment that met MY needs--not his. He listened to me and took me out to see apartments over the course of a week in spite of my hectic schedule. And whether it was at midday or in the evening after work, JP would show me at least four apartments in each outing. He treated me like I was his only client, even though I did not have a large budget. And with each outing, the options he presented were closer and closer to what I had in mind--until we finally hit the nail on the head. Now I'm a great UES apartment, paying the monthly rent I wanted to pay from the outset and with the space I needed.

My boyfriend and I were set on finding the perfect apartment. While I was at work, my boyfriend's job was to find a place. For two months, checking every Craigslist ad and broker from here to Park Slope all we ran into were headaches and bait and switch brokers. We got twice bamboozled by co-op boards and private renters who ran us through circles. I swear, my Boyfriend took videos of over 50 apartments to show me when I came home every night. Over and over again, we saw cookie cutter boring places.

Insert Joaquin. Now we were at the end of our ropes, about to give up on our city dream... Joaquin showed us (in one day) 4 places and was honest about what was good or bad. He never showed us a crappy unit and never anything above our price limit. In the end, we found a ridiculously awesome loft that was below market.
After dealing with over 20 brokers and tons of negative experiences, I feel blessed to have run into Danny. He's a pro who knows the neighborhood and the community. If you're thinking Upper West Side Joaquin is definitely your guy!!!

Joaquin was great- it was taking a while to find the right place for me but he really stuck with it through to the end. I appreciate all the effort he put in!

I worked with Jaoquin and he was a fantastic broker. He reached out to me based on my criteria and he read my comments and paid attention to exactly what I wanted. He was able to show me a few places during my lunch break. He took me to newly listed apartments first and I wound up applying to -- and signing -- the second apartment that we looked at. It was listed the night before, otherwise I'm not sure if I would've gotten it. He was also patient and answered all my questions. I would work with him again.

Me being new to the "apartment hunting thing" I was a little skeptical about working with a broker's due to certain horror stories I've heard about and some of their unscrupulous actions. However from the moment I contacted Joaquin on Naked Apartments he was quick to respond and honest and up front about everything. He listened to what we wanted and by the time we got to the third apartment our search was over and we found our place!!! Me and my roommates were ecstatic about the place he found for us!! For the price we paid for this apartment we have we are already the envy of some of our friends lol.....This was totally smooth and stress-free thanks to Joaquin!!! I IHighly recommend!!!
