A mainstay in the East 60s for the past 30 years, Jane Shapiro truly knows the market she loves, lives in and sells. Whether you are looking for that special apartment on the East Side, or even downtown where Jane had art galleries for years, she will guide you with utmost attention, compassion and expertise.
Jane brings diverse knowledge to your real estate experience thanks to her relevant background in the arts, business and finance. This gal from New Orleans studied dental hygiene at Miami Dade College then was swept off to New York with the man who became her husband. Together they opened Dyansen Galleries, which they grew from one then two galleries in Soho to a gallery in Trump Tower, up to 30 galleries in the U.S. stretching to California and Hawaii. After 10 years of doing marketing, dealing with artists and organizing openings, Jane was ready to switch gears and try her hand at real estate. She also got her Series 7 license and worked as a stock broker with her husband, an investment banker, as well as for Charles Schwab.
Extremely tenacious and dedicated, Jane will abide by your unique needs and focus intently on fulfilling them to the best of her ability. When you work with her, you know you are getting not only a partner in the complex process of finding a Manhattan home, but an advocate for your best interests who will school you on all your options.
Outside of her work, Jane is a fitness enthusiast who loves tennis, yoga, mountain climbing and biking, especially when it’s for a good cause like when she rode from Boston to New York to benefit those with AIDS. She also loves world travel which she’s done extensively, to the Far East, Middle East, Asia and other exotic places.
