Being a real estate agent requires great interpersonal, organizational and time management skills, as well as knowing the inventory well. As a former technology manager, James developed an intimate knowledge of the technology behind the products he developed, and dedicated superior care in implementing solutions for complex demands. These same valuable skills serve him well in his real estate work, and benefit his clients who appreciate his detailed approach to their needs.

Working with James, you're assured honesty, loyalty, up-to-date market information, quick response and creative problem solving. "When the hunt for one's home is one the line, an agent should offer nothing less to ensure the best service, experience and results possible," he says. "NYC is a dynamic market. Facts that were true a few months ago are not necessarily valid today, which is why I always strive to stay informed and impart my knowledge to clients, so they can make smart decisions."

When it comes to properties, if James can't find it, then it doesn't exist. He believes that with the huge assortment of property in the city, there is something for everyone regardless of the price range.

Born in Haiti and raised in Brooklyn, James attended Stony Brook University as an undergraduate and Binghamton University for graduate school. He holds a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering. A lover of languages, James speaks fluent Kreyol (Haitian) and English, a little bit of Spanish, and plans on studying German. For fun he loves to dance, and has learned several dance styles including salsa, hip-hop, swing and ballroom. James also acts in various film projects in his free time.

Where do I begin? How about with an understatement: James is quite simply one of the finest brokers in this city. To be in such a high-pressure profession, he’s the definition of cool, kindness, sincerity, and, most of all, patience. I saw a studio on this site, located in Hell’s Kitchen, about which my first thought was, “nah, why bother, it’s probably just a box anyway,” then decided what the heck, just contact the guy and see what happens. Almost immediately – and by “immediately,” I mean literally two minutes after I hit send – my phone rings and it’s James saying he’d just read my email. Yes, just that fast. He said he did not have the keys to the studio yet but noted my interest and would let me know. Fast-forward to the next night, a Sunday evening around 5:30, when I get a call from James saying he’d gotten hold of the keys and asking if I’d like to see it in the next few minutes. I said absolutely, zipped down to Hell’s Kitchen from my apartment in Harlem, and couldn’t believe my eyes when I walked into this rather large and lovely studio – and exactly in my price range! Knowing instantly that I’d found my new home, I asked James to take it off the market, followed by the usual multi-documents-driven procedural one goes through when applying for an apartment in New York, and in a matter of a day or so, all of our hard work paid off – the studio was mine. Game over? Not quite. I had a certain fear about the apartment put in my head by others who, though their intentions were noble, caused me to nearly throw it all away in an instant. But thanks to James, who kept talking me back from the edge, I came to my senses and realized that I’d be crazy to let a great apartment like this slip through my fingers. Because of him, I’m happy tonight instead of kicking myself for screwing up an amazing deal. Needless to say, I cannot thank James enough or come up with sufficiently wonderful things to say about him, so I’ll settle for a simple statement of fact: If you want the best broker in town, the best broker in the business, by all means hire James to tend to your real estate needs. I’ve no doubt he will come through for you the way he came through for me.

James is upfront and professional in his approach to showing apartments. Midway through my search, I changed my parameters (by trying to live with a roommate) and James went to work finding me a whole new set of apartments that met my new needs. I felt very supported in my search.

James is a great agent and knows what he's doing. He is friendly and makes you feel like he is truly on *your* side during the apartment search process. He showed great apartments, all of which were within my price range. I highly recommend working with him to find an apartment!

We had basically given up looking for an apartment and decided to stay in our studio with a newborn when we met James. He was nice and seemed pretty on the level, showing us a couple of spots in our range in Sunset Park the first time we met him. None of the places we saw were right, but we told him our fantasy apartment and our preferred area. He called us a week later with exactly what we were looking for, in our budget, pretty much exactly where we wanted to live. He got us into the apartment for a showing on a Sunday evening, before the apartment was even listed. A lot of other agents wasted our time showing us places that were not at all what we were looking for, hoping we'd fall in love or at least grudging acceptance. James got us EXACTLY what we wanted, for EXACTLY what we wanted to pay (actually ($100 cheaper), he was super nice, he called to follow up. Overall, a very good experience and highly recommended!

James was awesome. A lot of brokers throw you a couple of emails and disappear, or worse yet wait for you to do their job for them, James will really hustle for you. First time we went out he had lined up three places to see all in the same neighborhood. When the third building turned out to be in worse condition than either one of us expected he turned to me and said "No, you're not living here, let's go." I really appreciated how hard he worked to listen to my needs and hunt for potential matches. I ended up finding a place too good not to snatch up completely by accident and I was actually a little sad James wouldn't be getting a commission because he really deserves it. I highly recommend working with him!

James is a fantastic agent. He was able to find me a perfect apartment after only a couple showings and had the lease ready for me to sign 2 days later. He was also very responsive and helpful in answering all my questions along the way. He will absolutely find you a great apartment, and he will make the process easy for you.

Unlike most brokers who want you to work around their schedule for showings, James is incredibly accommodating to his clients busy schedules (big plus). He has immense knowledge of the Brooklyn area as well as Manhattan. He will hit the ground running for you to find the apartment that fits your needs. I haven't seen a broker work so hard before. James is very personable and you can tell he truly enjoys his job. I will definitely use James again!

As a disclaimer, the only reason I did not rent an apartment from James is because I decided to stay in my current apartment. If I begin the search again, he is the guy I will call.

Freaking amazing guy. He will go above and beyond. even though i didn't find an apartment with him, i wish i could have. I have met a lot of d****e bag brokers and he, by far exceeds expectations. I can't give him enough praise. I've lived in NYC for 12 years and have not met a broker as upstanding and helpful and cheerful as him. Even if you see an apartment listed by another broker on here, contact James, chances are he has access to the apartment and will be much more pleasant to deal with than anyone you get paired with. - Nastassia

James responded to my initial inquiry immediately. He was able to quickly set up appointments for viewings in the LES and downtown Brooklyn. He was very professional and accommodating during the 2 days of apartment searching. He is a very personable guy and is a well informed broker. James knows the city well and will help you find the perfect apartment. Thanks James!
