Ivan Jara

I cannot say enough good things about Ivan. He is intelligent, courteous, friendly, honest, cares and listens to what you want. I was looking for a very modest apartment financially (for NYC anyway!) and Ivan spent so much time going through everything with me, showing me many properties.

He isn't pushy in any way, is incredibly honest and is an all round lovely guy. When you read about the bad peeps out there - as I did looking for my first NY apartment - trust me that Ivan is the exact opposite. I'm a super cautious person who double-checks everything - Ivan was honest about places he considered to have poor management or other issues, which I always verified with internet searches. Ivan earned my trust.

I found a place privately in the end, and am currently in the process of application, but that was a matter of chance and not a lack of effort on Ivan's part. If that falls through or for any reason I'm looking for a place again, Ivan would be the first person I'd call.

Ivan was fantastic. He was friendly and courteous, and went above and beyond to make sure we had all the advantages we could have that would help make sure we got the apartment we wanted. He was always available via phone or text, and made himself available to meet up in person whenever needed. Overall, he was reliable and easy to be around, and it was a great experience to work with him! I would recommend him to anybody looking for an apartment in NYC!

Recently, my husband and I moved to New York from Missouri, because my husband got a job with Microsoft. I’m not new to moving, my husband was previously in the Marine Corps, so I have experience with relocating, with making new friends, and with learning about a new area. However, this move felt more overwhelming to me, because we did not have a guaranteed support system like we would have had moving with the military. We did not know who to talk to about the area, we didn’t know where to find a safe neighborhood for our family, or who we would turn to for advice about New York life. We decided to try and find a broker that might be able to help answer all of our questions. Before meeting Ivan, we had met with three other brokers. Each one of them didn’t seem to have the knowledge we were looking for about various neighborhoods, nor did they take the time to listen to our concerns and wants as a client. They were also very pushy, hard to get a hold of, and rushed us through every appointment. We were starting to get discouraged, but when doing a search on nakedapartments.com, my husband came across listings posted by Ivan Jara. He decided to email call him. When we met Ivan, he was very friendly and personable. After our first meeting with him, we knew he was going to be our broker. The next couple of weeks, Ivan helped us search for an apartment. Each apartment he showed us we liked. He did an excellent job listening to our wants and needs and making sure he got to know us. We eventually found a place to call home thanks to Ivan. It is PERFECT! I truly believe that people are placed in our lives for a reason, and I’m exceedingly thankful we got to work with Ivan. Whenever we have a question, we know we have a friend who will help answer our questions. I would highly recommend Ivan to anyone who is looking for a broker. In fact, I already have! I cannot praise him enough for his professionalism, knowledge, and over all integrity as an individual.

Ivan was so great that I was initially suspicious. I just couldn't believe that there was someone this hardworking, honest and nice working in the New York real estate business, but there he is. Ivan negotiated on our behalf, promptly responded to all of our emails, calls and texts, and met with us morning noon or night to get us our dream apartment. I have lived in New York for over five and have moved at least once a year in that time, so I've dealt with my share of brokers. Ivan was the best. Oh, and did I mention I have a dog? Yeah, and she's over 30 pounds, but Ivan didn't complain about that either! I've already recommended him to one of my friends who is moving here, and I will continue to do so.

Ivan was wonderful. He was prompt with his emails and calls, listened to what I needed, and met me to see apartments even when he was super busy and almost last minute! I did not rent because my plans changed, but I can guarantee that if I need to look for an apartment, Ivan is the only guy I'm calling! I cannot say enough great things about him. He was warm, friendly, timely, and took all my concerns into account. He is a credit to your company. Keep up the great work, Ivan!
