Guillaume Derouet

We were super impressed with Guillaume. This was our first attempt to rent an apt in Manhattan, and we were clueless as to what the market would allow. Guillaume was very patient and dedicated to finding us what we wanted in a no-nonsense kind of way, but with none of the patronizing tone that brokers can get with you here in NY. He did not waste a single moment of our time, everything we saw was very possible for us. That accuracy allowed us to become picky, and he did not lose patience with our pickiness. In the end, he found us a great apt in an area that we were not considering, for a better price than what we had thought we were going to spend...Guillaume is someone who pays attention to what you like, what you want, what you need, and then finds it for you.

On top of being a good broker, he is also pleasant company with whom to spend 2 days walking the city. We enjoyed our time looking at apts, which is saying a lot. We will call on him again the next time we move.

I asked about an apartment with seemed like a great deal and my 1st question was when I could see the unit. I was written back with a question about my move in avbl and when I could see it. I told him my move in date was flexible as im on a month to month and i would like to see it the next day at noon. No response after that. I waited a day , no response , i wrote back and asked if I could see the unit and I was told he was out of town. Now , why would you post a unit on Sunday night that was a potential great deal and not be avbl to show it the next day ? I asked when he was back in town , no response. I get the feeling it was the classic bait and switch - get the renter to come in, get the info you need and show him something else. It seems to be the norm as i have been dealing with a lot of brokers and I just want to find one that wants to do a little work for the huge amount of money they charge .

Guillaume was great. He showed me exactly what I was looking for and was very responsive to texts/calls/emails.

Guillaume was a very fair broker, he helped us negotiate his fee and find a really awesome apartment. He showed us a ton of apartments all in one night which was great - and he stayed after hours to help us fill out paperwork. Then he came with us to the lease signing and helped us make sure everything was in order. All in all, very helpful.

Guillaume found me a perfect apartment, going the extra mile to make sure he found me something i would really like and enjoy living in.
Highly recommend him to anyone looking in Manhattan, especially downtown, he had access to some fantastic places. He was organised, prepared and quick to respond to emails.

Didn't end up renting from Guillaume, but he did a really great job of showing us some excellent properties when we were short on time. I would suggest him to anyone who is new to Manhattan.

Guillaume quickly found an apartment that meets my expectations, in my price range, on the first try. Very good job!! I will work with him again.
