After being shown apartments by some strange characters, it was a huge relief to meet Brian Hughes. He is very knowledgable about many NYC neighborhoods, and I found him to be very straightforward and pragmatic. He recommended that my boyfriend and I would find what we wanted in Astoria and was absolutely right. We really appreciated that he helped us stay within our budget, as we found a great place that’s near the subway. We decided on the first apartment he showed us, although all the options we looked at would have worked as well. We just resigned our lease for a second year. Thanks Brian!

Apologies to Brian for taking so long to get to this! I contacted Brian after working with three other brokers who were all showing me the same types of apartments, none of which were meeting my criteria (which I didn't think was all that stringent). This was during the COLDEST part of January, so not only was my time being wasted, I was also freezing.

Then my luck changed - I met with Brian one morning and he had several apartments lined up for me to see. He had paid attention to my criteria, listened to my questions, noticed my reactions to different apartments, and asked me TONS of questions. He also provided insight into and gave pros and cons about different buildings. Plus he was fun and interesting to talk to as we tromped around.

I ended up renting the first apartment he showed me, after looking at several more. I recommend him and I would use him again, although I hope I don't have to for awhile!

There is yet to be a better broker than Brian Hughes. I came across Brian’s listing on Naked Apartments at the end of my 3-week apartment hunting and boy did time truly save the best for last. Brian not only possessed the highest level of competence and excellence in his field, but was also extremely skilled, knowledgeable, informative, personable, and sensitive. Once I presented him with my must-haves he started to assess and analyze them and showed me the perfect apartments tailored for my needs. I can frankly say that I am not the easiest client to deal with as I am firmly non-negotiable and tremendously picky with my requirements but in spite of this Brian exceedingly delivered. He even goes the extra mile to remind you - at times when you seem to get caught in all the confusions of the pros and cons of various apartments that you’ve seen - the advantages of each listing he has shown you in relation to your priorities and levels of need, making such a tedious process seem like a wonderful breeze. As for disappointments, I only have one for the fact that 5 stars is the maximum rating I could give him - he staggeringly deserves well beyond 5. Needless to say, I recommend Brian with the highest commendations to whoever is fortunate enough to stumble upon any of his listings.

P.S. I initially contacted Brian while he was on a personal trip overseas and he had gone on extensive efforts just to consistently respond to my queries while away. I am not surprised at all why everyone on here has given him perfect ratings. Thanks, Brian!

Brian is by far the best broker I have worked with! He really listens to exactly what you ask for and does not push you to look at anything over your budget. Even after applying for and signing a lease, Brian has been in contact with us and has provided help and support throughout the entire process. I would recommend him to anyone and will certainly use him again in the future!

Great experience working with Brian. Had bad experiences with other agents on this site, concerned more with closing the deal and getting paid than actually working with us to find a great apartment. Brian responded to our inquiry quickly, and took the time (on an extremely hot, muggy day) to walk us around Astoria showing us several places that all fit what we were looking for. Did not get any cliche sales pitch or feel any pressure to apply for something we weren't happy with. Very friendly and personable, as well as knowledgable about the apartments and the renting & application process. Went above and beyond as far as helping us find our apartment and putting together a strong application. And we will be signing our lease on a great apartment tomorrow!
